I'm looking forward to seeing the show!
|Field mice always sleep facing northwest. Kangaroos can't walk backwards. Female hyenas have penises. Let's face it, nature is weird. What's the strangest thing you know about the animal kingdom?|
My favorite random tidbit: Domesticated turkeys will drown in heavy rain.
See, turkeys' mouths stay open when they look up. And when it rains, they feel something tapping them on the head. And when they look up to see what that something is.....
You'll have to wait five months to watch Tim answer that question, but you can probably guess the answer ;)
Airdates are currently scheduled for March 20 and 23rd. Not only did his appearance go over two days, it's over the whole weekend! And I will say that his second episode includes high drama and suspense.

Is as much as I can say. Roommate didn't get on until the second half of the last show....which means we get to go back to New York next Tuesday as well!
Keeping my fingers crossed for that long is going to make getting caught up with work really difficult ;)
Also, I passed the test, for the third time, and interviewed again. I wanna be on millionaire toooooooo! Please?
In other news, I am so OVER the current part of the job that keeps me working so much overtime.....especially when I learn that contract managers in other groups are so bored that they're watching tv (and have been doing that for months). I only told people weeks ago that there was going to be way too much work for just me (and that was before I started taking random mid-week jaunts to NYC).

So Roommate is going to be taping for Who Wants to be a Millionaire tomorrow! (and I get to go watch! And try out! agaIn) I won't be able to tell you how he does until the air date - March 2 - but keep your fingers crossed!
So I have bunches of events planned along with a couple of trips possibly of interest to my flist...
7/1-5 Los Angeles
7/5-9 San Francisco

So I'd toyed with the idea of going to Terminus, but it's turned out I definitely can't :(
Because I'm going to the Bahamas instead! Choice are hard sometimes, no?
Also planned and purchased - California in (early) July! LA and San Francisco, so I'll have to meet up with the G&S west contingent.

One of the great things about Costa Rica was being able to try new kinds of wine (ETA - I know I've been back for ages). I was especially fond of Carmenere, a varietal that I wasn't too familiar with at the time.*BevMo is a California chain, but they do ship to DC and VA (but not MD).
My favorite 'cheap' wine was a blend (Carmenere/Cab Sav/Shiraz) called Palo Alto Reserva, which is currently on sale at BevMo's* 5 cent sale. Palo Alto is normally $14.99, but during the sale a second bottle is 5c, for an average of $7.52 a bottle :)
I was mostly drinking the 2005, and BevMo only has the 2006, but it's still got great reviews on their site. The '05 was a great drinking wine by itself, and it paired well with Argentinian food (mmmm, grilled meats) and tomatoey pasta.

Nope not dead
The good thing about having 38 hours of time worked by Wednesday - only needing to use 2 hours of vacation time to take Thursday and Friday off.
The bad thing about having 38 hours of time worked by Wednesday - self-evident.
